This Week!
Math: Topic 5 on Addition and Subtraction Equations. Making true equations, word problems, 3 addends, and precision.
Reading: Learning about Sequencing and Text Importance. It is Reader's Theater week too.
Writing: Journaling on things past and present. Writing about things we do and see. Writing about our feelings. Goal is now 3 or more sentences! Practice writing at home!
Phonics: Open Vowel Words. Words like go, so, he, we, no, me.
Sight Words: then, them, these, so, many
Science: Finishing Chapter 1, and starting Chapter 2 on The Design Process.

This Week!
Math: Finish testing Topic 4 - Subtraction Facts to 20. Beginning Topic 5 on Addition and Subtraction Equations.
Reading: Learning about Sequencing and Text Importance. Sequencing means putting the events in a story in order. We are also looking for sequence words like first, next, then, finally, lastly, etc...
Writing: Journaling and Thanksgiving writing. Writing about things we do and see. Writing about our feelings. Goal is now 3 or more sentences! Practice writing at home!
Phonics: CVCe long i - "e makes the i say i", "i says its name". Words like five, mine, time, quite and drive.
Sight Words: she, do, if, their, how (we will have new words NEXT week).
Science: Finishing Chapter 1, and starting Chapter 2 on The Design Process. Also Life Cycle of a Butterfly.
Other Things:

Math: Topic 4 - Subtraction Facts to 20. We will practice subtracting using different strategies. This week we will focus on word problems and reasoning.
Reading: We are starting a new unit on Sequencing and Text Importance. Please be reading at home and practicing sight words too!
Writing: Journaling- writing 2 or more sentences, starting a sentence with an Uppercase letter, using capital I, and ending with a period. Writing at home is a good idea too!
Phonics: CVCe long o - "e makes the o say o", "o says its name". Words like smoke, stole, rope, stove, home and hope.
Sight Words: she, do, if, their, how
Science: Recording and Analyzing data, and reviewing chapter 1.
Other Things:
Monday: Language Club starts.

Reading: Last week focusing on Visualizing and Analyzing characters. Please be reading at home and practicing sight words too!
Writing: Journaling- writing about things we do and see, feelings, complete sentences, and the most important details. Writing at home is a good idea too!

Tuesday: Hospital Field Trip in the afternoon.
Wednesday - Veteran and a high school visitor in the afternoon.
Thursday - Veteran music concert in the afternoon. Book order is due!
Friday Ms. Anderson will be gone. Please review substitute teacher expectations at home. There were a lot of issues last time there was a sub. We will definitely be reviewing classroom rules and ROAR leading up until Friday.
