Our Hopes and Dreams!

As part of Responsive Classroom we think and talk about our hopes and dreams for the future. I went around and ask each student what they would like to be when then grow up and what they are going to do in school to help themselves achieve that goal. These will be up in the classroom all year as a reminder. Take a look!

Letter Names and Sounds

We have been reviewing our letter names and sounds for these first few weeks of school. Make sure to continue reviewing at home. We will be learning blends next in phonics!

Bus Safety!

Today your child learned about and practiced school bus safety. Please review at home how to be safe when riding or being near the bus. Some students ride the bus everyday and some will only ride it during school field trips, but it is important for every child to know. Students were given a school bus safety packet they can read and color, you may talk to your child about this at home. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera so sorry for no pictures! 

Book Boxes!

Last week we filled our book boxes with books. (Ask me what books I put in mine!) Then we practiced reading them. We know there are 3 ways to read a book. Read the pictures, read the words or retell the story! Don't forget to read every night!! :)
